American Outdoor Lighting is a subsidiary of The Columbia Company.
 
The basic business of The Columbia Company since 1960, has been the development, construction, and management of residential real estate.  In 46 years, the company has owned and managed over 2,000 apartments for themselves and for other owners.
 
During the development of one of their projects, the need for landscape lighting revealed a lack of creative, competent, reliable contractors in the marketplace.  So the company decided to form this new department.
 
Using the business techniques that had made The Columbia Company so successful over the years, this new enterprise has created a significant place in the capital city’s economy, and brought a new professionalism to the landscape lighting industry.
